HELP 4 THE BROKEN

"Dear Lord, you know I'm a sinner. I know I'm a sinner. But I want for you to be the center of my life. Lord, I want you to come into me and tell me what to do. I'm sorry for all my sin, amen."

This prayer, if prayed sincerely, can change your life. You can pray it right now, and/or learn how to be saved by reading to the red line on this page. Past the red line also has helpful advice for being a Christian.

Faith and love are two important attributes that you will need to get to heaven.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life.(John 3:16 ASV version)

Loving God and other people are the two main things Jesus wants you and I to do:

37 And he said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the great and first commandment.
39 And a second like [unto it] is this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. (Matthew 22:37-39 ASV version)

But what is love? The Bible answers this question in 1 Corinthians 13. If you would like to read the Bible absolutely free, go to http://biblepro.bibleocean.com/App/

Here is a story of a man who was a great christian. Kids grown and healthy, good wife, well paying job, well liked among family and friends, but best of all, a great relationship with God. But one year, things fell apart. (1*)First his youngest daughter fell sick with brain cancer. As the man was coping with his daughter, his son got into a car crash on the way home from school and died. The man didn't know what was going on! (2*)Then his wife left him because, "The love wasn't there". So there was Tim (as we'll call him) Left with one healthy boy, a son to bury, and a daughter in need of healing. (3*)"He's stupid." Said his friends. "That good for nothing lost his well paying job just to see his daughter. His life must be  like this because he's unfit righeously. That must be the cause."  But it didn't stop there. (4*)His boss fired him for going to see his daughter instead of coming to work, and a tornado came through the neighborhood and hit only his house!

"God what have I done? Have I sinned? Why is my life so horrible! At first, We were walking together, and I look back and I see the footprints of both of us Lord, side by side, always together, and I remember how you always cared for me and lifted me above my troubles, but now, I only see one set of footprints! Where did You go? "

God's reply: My son, I never left. I've always been with you, there for you, and caring for you through thick and thin. The reason  why you only see one set of footprints, is because that was when I  was carrying you in my arms, closer to me then you've ever been before. Just trust your way through this. Have faith in me Tim. I will- as I always do- come through for you.

Isaih 41:10: "Do not fear for I am with you... I will strengthen you, surely I will help you..."

A year later: Tim is a thankful, faithful, humble, and sincere man. His daughter is better, his wife came back and is sorry, and God is ever present in his life.

Isaih 52 13: Behold, My servant will prosper,He will be high and lifted up and greatly exalted.

Bible verse quotes that go with the numbers in parenthesees through out the story. (copied from http://biblepro.bibleocean.com/dox/default.aspx)

1: James 5 14-18 14Is anyone among you ill? let him send for the rulers of the church; and let them say prayers over him, putting oil on him in the name of the Lord.
15And by the prayer of faith the man who is ill will be made well, and he will be lifted up by the Lord, and for any sin which he has done he will have forgiveness.
16So then, make a statement of your sins to one another, and say prayers for one another so that you may be made well. The prayer of a good man is full of power in its working.
17Elijah was a man of flesh and blood as we are, and he made a strong prayer that there might be no rain; and there was no rain on the earth for three years and six months.
18And he made another prayer, and the heaven sent down rain and the earth gave her fruit.                                                                                                                                                          2:  Mathew 5: 31-32
(Basically, don't divorce. Jesus said not to. Check it for yourself. In fact, read all these verses. No! No! Don't leave this page! Read the verses first! Get your bible and come back!)                                                                              3:Matthew 5:22 and Matthew 7: 1-5.

4:Matthew 6:25-34:
25So I say to you, Take no thought for your life, about food or drink, or about clothing for your body. Is not life more than food, and the body more than its clothing?
26See the birds of heaven; they do not put seeds in the earth, they do not get in grain, or put it in store-houses; and your Father in heaven gives them food. Are you not of much more value than they?
27And which of you by taking thought is able to make himself a cubit taller?
28And why are you troubled about clothing? See the flowers of the field, how they come up; they do no work, they make no thread:
29But I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these.
30But if God gives such clothing to the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is put into the oven, will he not much more give you clothing, O you of little faith?
31Then do not be full of care, saying, What are we to have for food or drink? or, With what may we be clothed?
32Because the Gentiles go in search of all these things: for your Father in heaven has knowledge that you have need of all these things:
33But let your first care be for his kingdom and his righteousness; and all these other things will be given to you in addition.
34Then have no care for tomorrow: tomorrow will take care of itself. Take the trouble of the day as it comes.

Steps to Christ: Ellen G. White.

Read the whole book here! It's a life changer and saver, A great guide that will help you learn to love God. Also, look up Ellen G. White on google.

Many are inquiring, "How am I to make the surrender of myself to God?"  You desire to give yourself to him, but you are weak in moral power, in slavery to doubt, and controlled by the habits of your life of sin.  Your promises and resolutions are like ropes of sand.  You cannot control your thoughts, your impulses, your affections.  The knowledge of your broken promises and forfeited pledges weakens your confidence in your own sincerity, and causes you to feel that God cannot accept you; but you need not despair.  What you need to understand is the true force of the will.  This is the governing power in the nature of man, the power of decision,

or of choice.  Everything depends on the right action of the will.  The power of choice God has given to men; it is theirs to exercise.  You cannot change your heart, you cannot of yourself give to God its affections; but you can choose to serve him.  You can give him your will, he will then work in you to will and to do according to his good pleasure.  Thus your whole nature will be brought under the control of the Spirit of Christ; your affections will be centered upon him, your thoughts will be in harmony with him. Desires for goodness and holiness are right as far as they go; but if you stop here, they will avail nothing.  Many will be lost while hoping and desiring to be Christians.  They do not come to the point of yielding the will to God.  They do not now choose to be Christians. Through the right exercise of the will, an entire change may be made in your life.  By yielding up your will to Christ, you ally yourself with the power that is above all principalities and powers.  You will have strength from above to hold you steadfast, and thus through constant surrender to God you will be enabled to live the new life, even the life of faith.

Attitude is Everything
By Francie Baltazar-Schwartz

Jerry was the kind of guy you love to hate. He was always in a good mood and always had something positive to say. When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, "If I were any better, I would be twins!"

He was a unique manager because he had several waiters who had followed him around from restaurant to restaurant. The reason the waiters followed Jerry was because of his attitude. He was a natural motivator. If an employee was having a bad day, Jerry was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation.

Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up to Jerry and asked him, "I don't get it! You can't be a positive person all of the time. How do you do it?" Jerry replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to myself, Jerry, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or you can choose to be in a bad mood.' I choose to be in a good mood. Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or I can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it. Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life."

"Yeah, right, it's not that easy," I protested.

"Yes it is," Jerry said. "Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to situations. You choose how people will affect your mood. You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. The bottom line: It's your choice how you live life."

I reflected on what Jerry said. Soon thereafter, I left the restaurant industry to start my own business. We lost touch, but often thought about him when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to it.

Several years later, I heard that Jerry did something you are never supposed to do in a restaurant business: he left the back door open one morning and was held up at gunpoint by three armed robbers. While trying to open the safe, his hand, shaking from nervousness, slipped off the combination. The robbers panicked and shot him. Luckily, Jerry was found relatively quickly and rushed to the local trauma center. After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, Jerry was released from the hospital with fragments of the bullets still in his body.

I saw Jerry about six months after the accident. When I asked him how he was, he replied, "If I were any better, I'd be twins. Wanna see my scars?"

I declined to see his wounds, but did ask him what had gone through his mind as the robbery took place. "The first thing that went through my mind was that I should have locked the back door," Jerry replied. "Then, as I lay on the floor, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live, or I could choose to die. I chose to live.

"Weren't you scared? Did you lose consciousness?" I asked. Jerry continued, "The paramedics were great. They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the emergency room and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read, 'He's a dead man. " I knew I needed to take action."

"What did you do?" I asked.

"Well, there was a big, burly nurse shouting questions at me," said Jerry. "She asked if I was allergic to anything. 'Yes,' I replied. The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply.. I took a deep breath and yelled, 'Bullets!' Over their laughter, I told them, 'I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead."

Jerry lived thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude. I learned from him that every day we have the choice to live fully. Attitude, after all, is everything.

If you're trying to be good... and your trying to find the way... stop...

Did you know? the bible says in Isaiah 64:6 that our righteousness is as filthy garment?(*1) The bible also says in Hebrews 13:6 (*2) says that nobody can please God without faith in Him. This verse is the key text of this short but important message. This message is important because the Bible is clearly saying to us that we must drop the world and follow Jesus (Mark 8:34-35, Luke 14:27 words of Jesus) and believe/have faith in Him.   (John 3:16 Hebrews 11:6 John 3:36)So we must have faith to please God? Well, what exactly is faith?
in Hebrews 11:1 the bible says (NASB) 1Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

Just understand this; you can't be righteous on your own; you believe in Christ and know that you can do all things THROUGH CHRIST can you expect to see your old sinful habits fade away; and trust me; they will because if you are in Christ, no darkness can abide in you!  I 1 John 1:5-7. Isn't that a great promise?

Important:

You are in Christ (in the Light) and you are saveid if you believe in Him (John 3:16 and 36) and you allow Him to live and work through you so you can obey the Bible (Philipians 4:13 and 1 John 2:3)

And when this happens, He will take away your sin

* section (NASB bible)

1)) Isaiah 64:6:

6For all of us have become like one who is (A)unclean,
         And all our (B)righteous deeds are like a filthy garment;
And all of us (C)wither like a leaf,
And our (D)iniquities, like the wind, take us away.

2))Hebrews 11: 6And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

Evaluate, Plan, and Operate- a way to overcome problems

"Evaluate, Plan, and Operate" is a little scheme to keep evil forces on their toes. It works against most types of sin. It's a simple three step process to terminate sin in your life that utilizes simple reasoning to become a stronger Christian.  the color red represents the summarized bits of this article. (and read this little remember paragraph).
REMEMBER: You need to believe in God so He can give you the Holy Spirit  (JOHN 7:38-39) So the Holy Spirit can guide you into all truth (John 16:13).
P.S also remember that the truth is basically freedom from sin according to John 8:31-34. More on that later. moving on to the three steps:

     1) Evaluate: You need to take a realistic biblical evaluation of your life.  Use it to search for all the places sin might be hiding in your character. How to take an evaluation? It's a good idea to evaluate your life while you are reading you're Bible, so you can see if your life coincides with what the Bible teaches. Since we're all sinners together, (Romans 6:23) it's time to move on to the next step.

2)Plan: Find some Bible verses that can help you to fight against the problem in your life. You may want to find a Bible verse that makes a promise relating to your issue that will encourage you, or maybe you want a Bible verse that let's you know what you're doing is wrong.
If you are dealing with temptation, for example maybe you'd need a Bible verse like this:
13There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. (KJV)-Bible.com)
Search for help in places like  http://www.openbible.info/topics/, bibletopics.comhttp://www.biblegateway.com/topical/, or just straight up google!
3)Operate: Lastly, you have to put your plan into action. Maybe you can practice a few times in your head by rehearsing what you would do if you get into a situation about your problem. But the only real step you can take here is to pray to God and ask him to help you beat the problem your facing.
